“Through my work, I evoke the myths and memories of personal experience in the Natural World.”

I am a studio artist living and working on a noisy New Orleans corner with my wife and daughter. I take inspiration from the rich history of the city and time on the water spent near my fishing camp in the Louisiana Salt Marsh. Through my work, I evoke the myths and memories of personal experience in the Natural World.

I’ve been intoxicated by various movements in the art world since I was very young, but It wasn’t until I enrolled in my first Oil Painting class at L.S.U. that I discovered my creative appetite.  After earning a B.A. in Journalism, I returned home to attend the New Orleans Academy Of Fine Arts where I was taught the disciplines of Painting, Drawing, and Sculpting from life, in the “academic” style.

My artwork is produced by layering oil paints and glazes over combinations of wood, aluminum, burlap, cotton canvas and linen. I paint mostly in the studio working from life, photographs, memory and my imagination.
